BACKGROUND: Accumulating evidence suggests that physical activity may protect against the development of breast cancer, but less is known about the role of modest physical activity during the postmenopausal years and in the context of physical function. METHODS: We evaluated this association in the Iowa 65+ Rural Health Study, a population-
